DAY EXCURSIONS
For those with limited time, day excursions are available from Fortune daily except Sundays between July 10th and September 5th, 2009 inclusive, departing Fortune at 7:30 a.m.
The M/V ARETHUSA operates the day trips. It is an excursion vessel that will cross to the island in 1 hour and 35 minutes. The upper deck of the vessel is ideal for bird and whale watching so bring your binoculars.
St. Pierre time is 30 minutes ahead of Newfoundland time. You will arrive mid-morning.
It should be noted that as in France, the stores close from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and that some stores are closed on Saturday afternoon. The stores are closed on Sundays and holidays but travellers can purchase liquors and wine from the corner stores. The French pastry shops are open as well as the restaurants.
The "ARETHUSA" will depart from St. Pierre at 2:45 (St. Pierre time). If you haven't changed your watch, it will depart at 2:15 p.m. Newfoundland time. After a memorable day, you will be back in Fortune by 3:50 p.m. Newfoundland time.
Visitors coming on a day excursion must pay duty to Canada Customs on goods purchased upon re-entry in Fortune. Please check with Canada Customs in Fortune prior to departure for applicable rate of duty.

All Vehicles must remain in Fortune - Parking is Available. Tickets must show a return date, any changes or cancellations are subject to a change fee of $10.00.

Upon arrival in St. Pierre you will be required to clear Immigration / Customs. All travellers must have a passport.
It's only a short walk from the ferry terminal to the Hotel Robert. Passengers arriving by air should take a taxi from the airport. Taxi fare is not included in the package.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Passengers driving to the ferry for St. Pierre will connect at Fortune.
St. Pierre Tours Ltd. offers the the traditional Hotel Robert for your stay on the island.
The Hotel Robert is the largest facility on the island with a total of 43 rooms. Our facilities include large rooms with queen size beds and efficiency units which were built in 1996. One wing of the hotel was completely renovated in 2002.
The hotel is located on the waterfront, a three minute walk from the Ferry Terminal. The original section of the hotel is very historical. Built in the 1920's during the Prohibition Era, it had as its guest Al Capone. The hotel has its own mini museum with numerous photographs and artifacts of the Prohibition era including Al Capone's hat.
The breakfast room, with its ocean view, is decorated with original prints of great ocean liners of the past. view gallery
There is a fully stocked souvenir boutique at both Hotels open extended hours 7 days a week.
* As in Europe, St. Pierre's electrical outlets are 220 volts / 50 cycles. It is advised to bring your own connectors/adaptors/transformers for your personal use of shavers/curling irons etc.
